GENERAL RULES /WKA Engine rules apply.  Econo Classes: see below.

All junior class racers must show a valid birth certificate for age verification. Full or partial body pieces allowed in all classes.  Snell 2000 rated helmets and neck collars are required. No mirrors, wings, or radio devices allowed. Four number panels required, one on each side of kart. Numbers must contrast in color to its background color. All added weight must be painted white and bolted on with a 5/16” or larger (double-nutted) bolt.  Go-karts will be randomly inspected and weighed after racing.

Illegal Equipment Driver will lose all points and awards for that event with the possibility of being fined money and/or additional

Loss of points at the discretion of track officials. Continued offenses may result in further loss of points and/or suspension from competition.

Safety Inspection It is the responsibility of the driver to have his/her kart and helmet safety inspected before their first session of hot laps.  If approved, a track official will affix an annual safety inspection sticker to the kart.   Only safety-approved karts are allowed to enter the track.

Mandatory Drivers Meeting:  All racers must attend the driver’s meeting.

Mandatory Rule:  Scoring tower and flag stand are off-limits during race events.

Discussion of Calls:  All decisions made by track officials are final and not open to debate.  After all race activities are done for the evening (final checkered flag is waved); you may approach the race director/flagman in a calm, productive manner to discuss why a certain call was made if you disagree.   We are not perfect and are open to constructive criticism that can improve our racing program.

BLACK FLAG:   A driver may receive a black flag for one of these reasons, but not limited to these reasons: [Rolled black flag is a “warning”; the Waved black flag means you must leave the track!]

1.       You have caused 2 or more cautions in a race.

2.       Rough Driving.

3.       It is determined that your kart may not be safe to continue racing.

4.       If a member of your crew approaches the flagman or scoring tower during a race.

5.       Stopping, spinning out, or pausing on the track in an attempt to bring out the yellow flag.

6.       General Unsportsmanlike Conduct from a driver or his/her pit crew member(s).

7.       May lose all points for that race. Under discretion of BFS Kart Officials.

Protest Fee and Requirements A $75 cash protest must be presented to the tech official prior to any tech (within 3 minutes of the completion of his/her race).  If the engine protested passes tech, $75 will go the racer/owner being protested.  If the engine protested does not pass tech, the protester receives his/her $75 protest fee back.  Only protest money that will be accepted by the tech official will be from a driver (or owner) entered in the same class as being protested.  IF you intend to protest an engine, you should approach the tech official prior to the completion of a race in order that the kart can be impounded at the scale area and not be taken back to his/her pit area.
