Hope everyone had a happy and healthy
holiday season.
Please find enclosed, a copy of the
General Rules; rules for the class(es) in which you competed last year;
rules for the new “Fun Stocks”, and a registration and pit pad form.
Note please that the deadline to renew
2009 pit pads is March 15!
After that date, all unreserved pads will be available on a first-come
basis.
The 2010 season will be here before
we know it! A schedule outline is currently on the Speedway website.
Following some open practices to get everyone ready, the 2010 Season
Opener will be Saturday, May 15, with a huge show including twin, 50-lap
Features for both the Late Models and the Modifieds! Additional
“Twin-50’s” are scheduled for July 31 and September 4.
The General Rules and 2010 rules for
all SIX Baer Field Speedway divisions are now online. Yes, we will have
SIX divisions this summer with the debut of the NEW “Fun Stocks.” The
“Fun Stocks” will be a new economy division for mid-sized front-wheel
drive cars. It will be a claimer division and open to “amateur” drivers
13 years of age and older ONLY!
Among the changes for 2010 will be
the return of Jerry Ladd to the tower to aid in scoring the feature
races. Every 2010 racing program will feature “co-headline” divisions
with either a weekly class and a visiting headliner, or a Late Model and
Modified doubleheader. Recognizing their stature as a co-headline
division, the Modifieds will see their Feature length extended to
30-laps to match the Late Models. We will also institute a new “no
radios” policy for all classes and a purse increase for the Street
Stocks.
Several special events will dot the
2010 calendar. Chief among them will be the 13th annual
International Gold Cup featuring the SuperPro Late Models on Friday,
August 6. The SuperPro cars are also scheduled on Saturday, July 3. The
HOSS Sprints will make their first of FOUR 2010 appearances on June 5,
followed by returns on July 24, August 28, and a season-ending
doubleheader with the CRA Super Series Late Models on September 18. For
the second consecutive year, the OUTLAW will return to the Baer Field
half-mile on Saturday, June 12. We will have our annual tractor pull
along with a full racing program on August 14. Finally, Baer Field
Speedway is proud to be the new home of the CHASE Junior
Achievement Grand Prix which will be held on Saturday, August 21.
We are very hopeful that we will be
having a Glenbrook Mall car show in late March or April. We should know
soon and will send out the details once they are finalized.
Unfortunately, the Mall doesn’t do business like they did in the past,
so we will have to have an entry fee for the show to pay for the space.
We are hopeful that we can keep this number low, but remember this will
be HUGE exposure for your sponsors and yourself!
Thanks for your continued support,
hope to see you this season!
